Public tender: »Razvojno – raziskovalni projekti za odpravo posledic COVID-19«, Phase 1
Co-financing of R&D projects that will be implemented in the form of industrial research and/or experimental development and are related to managing the consequences of COVID-19.
We have completed Phase 1 of the »Razvojno – raziskovalni projekti za odpravo posledic COVID-19« project, which was financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.
Project Title: Microbium Smart Protocol 4.0 for UV Device Providers.
During the project, we developed a service – a system for setting up the Smart Protocol 4.0 for testing the effectiveness of UV devices intended for disinfection, which are in the process of development and UV devices intended for disinfection as final products before commercialization.
Objectives of the operation:
to create a comprehensive service of validation and verification of UV devices, which can later be mapped to other disinfection or sterilization devices, increase the number of employees, to create a service with a very high added value and thus help to move Slovenia from a very production-oriented society to a service-oriented one, to enable manufacturers of UV devices to develop efficient products and thus a faster transition to the market (increasing competitiveness) – usually precisely in the countries where such centers are established, the most successful manufacturers are created. The developed Smart Protocol 4.0 validates and/or verifies the effectiveness of UV devices intended for disinfection, which are in the process of development (validation) or are about to be launched on the market (verification) with the possibility of transfer to future ISO standards.
In the operation, we realized the project by carrying out activities, which we segmented into levels of technological development (TRL). Namely, in the TRL6 phase, we carried out optimization activities of the entire concept of the implementation of Smart Protocol 4.0 variations in a laboratory environment. In the TRL7 phase, we optimized variations of the Smart Protocol 4.0 for the operational environment and set up a mobile laboratory. In the TRL8 phase, we transferred variations of the Smart Protocol 4.0 to a real environment and created a smart questionnaire. In the TRL9 phase, we achieved the entry of smart protocol variations into the market and launched the ISO standardization procedures. During the development of the mentioned stages, we optimized the entire concept of the Smart Protocol 4.0 for all methods of UV disinfection – surface, water and air.
