Public tender: CircinWater 2023
About the CircInWater Euroclusters Project:
The CircInWater Euroclusters project aims to accelerate the development and adoption of water-smart solutions, facilitating the digital, green, and resilient transformations (triple transitions) of the European industrial ecosystems.
Project Duration and Funding:
CircInWater is a 36-month European project (2022-2025), funded by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) through the Joint Cluster Initiatives (EUROCLUSTERS). It is part of Europe’s recovery strategy (SMP-COSME-2021-CLUSTER) to enhance the triple transitions and the development of water-smart solutions in the agrifood and energy-intensive industries.
Project Overview:
In this groundbreaking project, we propose the development of the world’s first solution for the simultaneous, automated quantification of E. coli and Enterococcus sp., which are representative pathogenic bacteria in waste and reused water.
Project Goal:
Our main goal is to reduce water risk in agriculture by implementing a fast (less than 24 hours), automated, affordable (€9 per sample), reliable (99% accuracy compared to state-of-the-art), reusable, and digitized method for microbiological quality control of reused water.
Innovations and Upgrades:
- Development of innovative water-soluble selective, differential reagents.
- Creation of algorithms and software in collaboration with Appolius d.o.o. . These will facilitate the detection and quantification of E. coli and Enterococcus sp. in waste and reused water.
- Improvement of sterilization processes.
