The DEMO PILOTI event presented an advanced solution for smart water supply management, with a strong focus on microbiological safety of drinking water. The project represents a major technological breakthrough: for the first time, rapid, automated and standardized microbiological monitoring is performed directly within the system, without long waiting times associated with external laboratory analyses.
Microbiological Safety as the Foundation of Trust
Drinking water quality is directly linked to public health protection. The new solution enables:
✔️ Microbiological test results within 8 hours
✔️ Operation in compliance with ISO 9308-02 standard
✔️ Lower costs compared to external laboratory analyses
✔️ Real-time monitoring across the entire water distribution network
This significantly shortens response times in case of deviations and increases overall system reliability. Instead of waiting days for laboratory results, operators can react within the same day.
From Data to Decisions: The Final Project Outcome
The key result of the project is the development of an AI Assistant for water system management, which:
- analyzes real-time water quality data,
- alerts operators to potential risks,
- predicts chlorine dosing requirements,
- optimizes chlorine levels based on network conditions.
The system no longer operates reactively, but predictively. The AI Assistant helps maintain microbiological safety while preventing excessive chemical dosing, ensuring better water quality, lower operational costs and improved sustainability.
